Farouk Lawan allegedly received a part of the bribe in April while he was heading the House Ad Hoc Committee on the management of fuel subsidy.
The clerk of the committee, Boniface Emenalo, also collected a part of the money.
Farouk Lawan arrived at the force headquarters, Abuja at 4p.m and was immediately ushered into the IG's office.

Also at the grilling was the head of the IG's special task force on the matter, Commissioner of Police, Ali Ahmadu.
The task force team leader continued with the interrogation for one hour.
It is reported that after an hour, Ali went to the seventh floor of the Louis Edet house to brief the IG and to get further directives.
