47-year-old Nigerian man dies in UK three weeks after assault

A 47-year-old Nigerian man who is believed to have been assaulted three weeks ago has died.

The Wednesday July 10 assault is apparently the cause of his death. On that day at 4:30pm London time, the police found the man on the pavement in Upper Clapton Road, Rossington Street, E5.

They soon found out that he had suffered a serious head wound.

They attended him and then took him and called in the London Ambulance Service that took the man to the Royal London Hospital.


He was in a critical condition which worsened the days and weeks that followed. He died on Sunday 28 July at 20:00hrs.

He has been named as Bakre Yesufu, 47 of Rossington Street, E5.

A post-mortem examination has been conducted on  Bakre Yesufu and the cause of death was given as pulmonary embolism.

Two men have so far been arrested and charged in connection with the unfortunate incident.
